Pass & Return
OBJECTIVE:
To improve running over a short distance.
EQUIPMENT:
One ball per group.
GROUP SIZE:
Four.
AREA:
10 x 10 metre grid.
DRILL EXPLANATION:
- Player A starts with the ball and passes it to player B then runs to position B and back to position A.
- Player B then passes to player C, follows pass to position C and then runs back to position B etc.
- Aim is to be back in the original position before the ball arrives.
COACHING POINTS:
• Players should have their hands up to receive the pass.
• Drive hard with arms and drive legs.
• Turn around quickly.
VARIATIONS / PROGRESSION:
- Increase the size of the grid.
- Vary the type of passes used.
